Beluga Pods Acceptable Use Policy

Beluga Pods is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all users of our platform. This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") outlines the rules and guidelines for using Beluga Pods' services and any material you upload or share on the Beluga Pods services ("User Content”). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to comply with this Policy. 

 

1. Purpose 

 

This Policy is designed to ensure the responsible use of Beluga Pods’ services and to protect our users and the integrity of the platform. It sets expectations for behaviour and prohibits activities that could harm the community or violate applicable laws. 

 

2. Prohibited Activities 

 

You may not use Beluga Pods for any of the following: 

 

Illegal or Harmful Activities: 

 

• Engaging in any activity that violates local, national, or international laws or regulations, including any fraudulent activity. 

• Promoting violence, hate speech, harassment, stalking, making threats or abuse or discriminatory behaviour. 

• Sharing, uploading, or distributing harmful content, such as malware, viruses, or other malicious code. 

• Terrorism. 

• Child sexual exploitation or abuse including grooming and child sexual abuse material. 

• Controlling or coercive behaviour. 

• Intimate image abuse. 

• Pornography. 

• Sexual exploitation of adults. 

• Human trafficking. 

• Drugs or psychoactive substance offences. 

• Firearms, knives and other weapons offences. 

• Encouraging or assisting suicide. 

• Animal cruelty. 

 

Privacy and Security Violations: 

 

• Collecting or sharing personal information about others without their consent. 

 

• Attempting to gain unauthorised access to our platform or other users' accounts. 

 

• Impersonating another person, organisation, or entity. 

 

Disruption and Abuse: 

 

• Spamming, phishing, or sending unsolicited communications. 

 

• Overloading the platform with excessive data or otherwise disrupting the normal flow of interactions. 

 

• Using the platform to advertise or promote unauthorised commercial services or products. 

 

 

Misrepresentation: 

 

Providing false, misleading, or deceptive information during registration or while using the platform. 

 

4. Content harmful to Children 

 

As noted in our Privacy Policy, Beluga Pods is not intended for children and we would ask that users to not provide personal data to us via the website or App. Users will not be able to create an account with us unless they provide their date of birth to confirm they are over the age of 18 years old. 

 

However it remains vitally important to ensure the following must content must not be shared in connection with Beluga Pods’ services: 

• Pornographic content. 

• Content which encourages, promotes or provides instructions for suicide. 

• Content which encourages, promotes or provides instructions for an act of deliberate self-injury. 

• Content which encourages, promotes or provides instructions for an eating disorder or behaviours associated with an eating disorder. 

• Content that is abusive and which targets any of the following characteristics: race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, gender reassignment. 

• Content which incites hatred against people: 

• of a particular race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origins, religion (including lack of religion), sex or sexual orientation; 

• who have a physical or mental disability; or 

• who have the characteristic of gender reassignment (meaning the person is proposing to undergo, is undergoing or has undergone a process (or part of a process) for the purpose of reassigning the person's sex by changing physiological or other attributes of sex). 

• Content which encourages, promotes or provides instructions for an act of serious violence against a person. 

• Bullying content. 

• Content which: 

• depicts real or realistic serious violence against a person (real or not); 

• depicts the real or realistic serious injury of a person (real or not) in graphic detail. 

• Content which: 

• depicts real or realistic serious violence against an animal (real or not); 

• depicts the real or realistic serious injury of an animal (real or not) in graphic detail; 

• realistically depicts serious violence against a fictional creature or the serious injury of a fictional creature in graphic detail. 

• Content which encourages, promotes or provides instructions for a challenge or stunt highly likely to result in serious injury to the person who does it or to someone else. 

• Content which encourages a person to ingest, inject, inhale or in any other way self-administer: 

• a physically harmful substance; 

• a substance in such a quantity as to be physically harmful. 

 

4. User Responsibilities 

 

To maintain a positive and safe community, you are expected to: 

 

• Use Beluga Pods in a manner that respects other users and aligns with its purpose of tackling loneliness and fostering connection. 

 

• Not upload, post, create on our site or App or share content containing any advertising or promoting any services or web links to other sites. 

 

• Keep your account credentials secure and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. 

 

• Report any violations of this Policy or suspicious activity to support@beluga-pods.com

 

User Content: 

• Must be accurate (where it states facts). 

• Only contain opinions that are genuinely held. 

• Must comply with the law applicable in any country from which it is posted and to which the website is targeted. 

 

User Content must not: 

• Be defamatory of any person. 

• Be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory. 

• Infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark of any other person. 

• Include material that might impair the physical, mental or moral development of persons under the age of 18. 

• Be likely to deceive any person. 

• Breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence. 

• Contain illegal content or promote any illegal content or activity. 

• Be in contempt of court. 

• Be threatening, abuse or invade another's privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety. 

• Be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person. 

• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person. 

• Give the impression that the User Content emanates from Beluga Pods if this is not the case. 

• Advocate, promote, incite any party to commit, or assist any unlawful or criminal act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse. 

• Contain a statement which you know or believe, or have reasonable grounds for believing, that members of the public to whom the statement is, or is to be, published are likely to understand as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. 

• Be pornographic. 

 

 

5. Consequences of Violations 

 

Beluga Pods reserves the right to take appropriate action if this Policy is violated, including but not limited to: 

 

• Warning the user. 

 

• Temporarily or permanently suspending the user’s account. 

 

• Removing prohibited content. 

 

• Reporting illegal activities to law enforcement or other relevant authorities. 

 

6. Monitoring and Enforcement 

 

Beluga Pods may monitor activity on the platform to ensure compliance with this Policy. However, we respect your privacy and will handle any data collected in accordance with our Privacy Policy which can be accessed here.

 

7. Updates to This Policy 

 

We may update this Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our platform with the updated effective date. Continued use of Beluga Pods after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
